How we got started

It all started as an "idea" in 1999 when Tim Brown, Miracle Golf President and PGA Professional, began to look for ways to help his customers raise more money for their cause. Tim was also interested in giving something more meaningful to the golfers in his tournaments besides a golf shirt, hat and goody bag. Year-in and year-out, Tim had watched frustrated event organizers work hard for months convincing golfers to play and pay an expensive entry fee. Then the organizers would worry over detail after detail only to raise $7K - 15K. There had to be a better way...and there was.

The concept became real when the first event was done by offering customer fit golf equipment as an incentive to players who could raise specified amounts of money. The first marathon was very successful and Tim began to offer the marathon option to all of his customers. Nearly 100% of the time organizers were excited by the new concept and signed up right away - the results were fantastic. It became clear that Miracle Golf need to expand beyond the local area. And TaylorMade Golf agreed.

TaylorMade became our partner by endorsing our program and Miracle Golf is proud to exclusively offer TaylorMade golf equipment at all our events.

These are the "facts" about how Miracle Golf came to be...but the truth is that Miracle Golf was born out of our desire to love and help people. Our name "Miracle Golf" comes from the countless miracles we have seen take place through our golf events.

We have been humbled to see families who are dealing with terminal illnesses - smile and cry - when they receive a check to cover their expenses.

And

We have been honored to have a role in helping various non-profit organizations' raise money to search for a cure for the incurable.

And

We have been inspired to watch faith-based groups raise money for orphans, the homeless and the hungry.

And

It has been fun to watch both parents and children work together to raise money for the needs of their school or sports team
